墨絵 SUMIE is a traditional Japanese ink painting.
墨 ― (Sumi) Ink 絵 ― (E) Drawing
Sumie is a type of monochrome painting that uses black ink
a wide range of gray shades that arise when mixing mascara with water.
The task is to be able to transfer the essence of the drawing object to paper, leaving it
aside all unnecessary details. The master gives up color, giving away
preference for black mascara with many shades, building harmony with the help
shadows and simple brush movements.
The master class will be conducted by Okano Bisou-san, a famous master of Japanese painting.
whose works have been awarded many prizes and awards and are exhibited in
the most famous museums and art galleries of Japan.
